La destilería Glenugie fue originalmente establecida alrededor del año 1830, siendo la destilería más al este de toda Escocia. Glenugie cerró permanentemente en 1983, y se retiro todo su equipamiento. Fue demolida posteriormente y actualmente existe un almacén en su emplazamiento original.
Notas de Cata
Producto: Rarest of the Rare Glenugie 1981, “single malt” de 22 años. Rarest of the Rare Single Malt Scotch
Numero de barril: 5156.
Color: ámbar.
Olfato: chocolate oscuro, toffee y castaño de indias.
Gusto: a carne, almíbar y naranja.
Final: duradero, a jerez.
Comentarios:  un trago estupendo – se le añora.

Numero de barril: 5155, barril de jerez.
Color: ámbar.
Olfato: jerez intenso y chocolate.
Gusto: muy afrutado, con muchas cerezas y jerez.
Final: a jerez y algo picante.
